Thomas Hayes, President and Chief Operating Officer, serves
Des Champs & Gregory, Inc. as its managing general partner. He received his
Bachelor of Arts in marketing from the University of Florida’s School of
Business.
Mr. Hayes has served as both a member and chairman on a number of national
producers’ councils. He is a well known and popular speaker on the national
level, and is the author of numerous insurance-related articles for state and
national publications. In 1989, the Traveler’s Insurance Company awarded him
its highest honor – The Quality of Life Award.
Mr. Hayes currently serves on the Board of Directors of the MCC Foundation, and
is treasurer-trustee of Florida Studio Theatre. He is past president of St.
Stephen’s Episcopal School.
Mr. Hayes also is past president of the Sarasota Sunrise Kiwanis Club, and past
2nd vice president of the Manatee and Sarasota Chapters of the National
Association of Homebuilders.
As President and Chief Operating Officer, I run the agency and the Financial
Services Department by giving authority to, and expecting accountability from,
my staff.
My management principles center on developing and nurturing a professional
working environment that encourages self-motivation and self-governance. I also
promote open lines of communication within the agency as well as with clients,
prospects and companies with which we do business.
Whether individually or as a team, our Financial Services Department is able
to work successfully to give our best efforts to our clients. We strive to
understand our clients’ current and future challenges, and offer products and
services to best handle those challenges. I expect the results to produce a
profitably run agency that meets or exceeds all our clients’ needs.
